As Kenyans marked Saba Saba, civil society group Inuka Kenya Ni Sisi urged the government to strengthen democratic institutions and protect constitutional freedoms. The lobby group expressed concern over what it described as the use of serious security charges against civic actors and critics, warning that such actions could undermine democratic space. It also called for independent oversight, accountability for alleged political violence, and impartial policing to uphold the rule of law.
