The public will today have an opportunity to give their views on plans to construct an airstrip at Kithoka Beat in Imenti Forest. The Kenya Forest Service says the airstrip, which will occupy about 11 hectares, is intended to improve forest management, emergency response, and support regional economic development. The agency says preliminary assessments found the site suitable, with minimal ecological disruption expected. Conservationists insists that the project is illegal following orders issued by the courts.
