MSF says over 800,000 people are living with diabetes with over half of cases believed to be undiagnosed. The organisation is calling on SHA to fund analogue insulin pens, warning that about 8,000 children currently receiving the devices through a donor-supported programme could lose access once they leave the scheme. MSF says including the pens in the SHA benefits package would ensure continuity of care and improve health outcomes for people living with diabetes.
