A global debt justice campaign has been launched in Nairobi, with civil society groups calling for reforms to unlock more funding for health and education. The “Freedom from Debt” initiative, led by AIDS Healthcare Foundation, NEPHAK and HENNET, advocates for a sovereign borrowers’ forum, crisis-driven debt service pauses and a one percent global AI solidarity levy. AHF’s Country Director Samwel Kinyanjui says the campaign is being rolled out in nearly 50 countries.
