“Every year you will find me in Canada, the USA, Australia and different parts of Africa. I don’t even know how it happens; it is only by God’s grace.”
During the interview, the host asked whether she performs in Swahili or English while ministering to international audiences.
Otieno revealed that she primarily sings in Swahili and has been encouraged by the positive reception from congregations abroad.
“I sing in Swahili, and they appreciate it so much. I thank God for that.”

She said her experience has challenged the common perception that Swahili gospel music is only relevant within Kenya or the East African region.
Worshippers from different cultural backgrounds have warmly embraced her music despite the language difference, demonstrating that its message resonates beyond borders.
“Sometimes when we sing in Swahili, many of us think we are limited to Kenya or East Africa. But they have received me so well.”
Otieno added that the international invitations have enabled her to minister at major Christian events, many of which have been successful. She noted that pastors in the host countries often recommend her ministry to others after her first visit, resulting in even more invitations.
“I hold major events there, and they are successful. When I arrive, the pastors receive me warmly. Once one pastor invites me, they have already lined up ten more.”
