Kenyan musicianKendihas shared fresh details about her relationship with fellow artist Timmy Tdat, revealing that open communication and resolving disagreements early have played a key role in their relationship.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha with presenters Clemmo and Kendi, the singer explained that what the public sees on social media represents only a small part of their lives together.
According to Kendi, she and Timmy Tdat spent a year together before making their relationship public. She said that the decision allowed them to build a solid foundation away from public scrutiny.

“Before we made our relationship public, we had been together for one year.”

She added that social media only reflects what they intentionally choose to share.

“What people do not know is that what we put on social media is what we want you to see. That is why we post what we post.”

Kendiexplained that her online persona differs from her life away from the spotlight, saying she separates her career from her responsibilities at home.
“The Kendi people I see on social media and the real me are two different people. I know this is my job, but this is also my life. When I get home, I am called Mama T.”
The musician said understanding a partner’s profession is important, especially when both people work in the entertainment industry, where public attention is constant.
She noted that whenever something upsets her, she addresses it immediately instead of letting resentment build up.
“If he does something I do not like, I tell him straight away, ‘I did not like that.’ If he sees that I have done something, he also tells me, ‘You went too far.’”
Kendialso praised Timmy Tdat’s willingness to take responsibility whenever disagreements arise.
“He is someone who apologises very quickly.”
Her remarks offered listeners a glimpse into how the couple handle conflict behind closed doors, contrasting with the carefully curated moments they share online.
