Kenyan content creator Scholah Mama Mboga has publicly apologised to her followers after admitting that recent engagement and holiday content involving musician Mike Brown was not real but part of a promotional campaign.
Speaking through videos shared on her Instagram and TikTok accounts, Scholah addressed growing questions from followers who had believed she was in a genuine relationship.
The content had sparked discussion online after the pair appeared together in romantic-themed posts, including an engagement reveal and later a trip to Malindi.
“I am sorry, guys, about the content that I did two weeks ago with Mike Brown. It was wrong to do that content to begin with, so I’m sorry to my fans. Believe in me, I felt that was not the right thing to do, and I apologise.”

She explained that the content was created as part of a business arrangement aimed at promoting Mike Brown’s music.The project involved Mike Brown, Dappa Man and herself, and the plan was to create attention around an unreleased song.
Scholah said what started as promotional content later developed into a larger storyline online.
“We did that because we were doing business with Mike Brown. Mike Brown, Dappa Man and I were involved with this. We were trying to promote Mike Brown — he is a musician.”
As interest from followers increased, the content evolved into what many believed was a real relationship. Scholah said they created engagement-related content and later shared videos from a Malindi holiday to continue building the narrative.
“Do you see me with a ring? It was a fake engagement.”
She also claimed that after the campaign gained traction, Mike Brown continued presenting the story as real and made statements she disagreed with.
“Right now, people know him because of me. He is trying to make it real. He says we dated for three years, yet the person does not even know my name.”
Scholah further denied claims that Mike Brown introduced her to Dappa Man, saying she first met Dappa Man during an appearance on Obinna’s show. She added that their first content together as a couple-style collaboration was posted on 31 December 2025.
The creator said the experience eventually became emotionally overwhelming. I struggled with how to explain the truth to followers while watching the situation continue publicly.
“After posting that Malindi video, I started getting stressed. Mentally, I have not been okay. I kept asking, how do we tell people it was not real? They were not dealing with it because he already gained what he wanted.”
She said she felt she had paid the higher price because she lost trust among followers and was left appearing dishonest to people who supported her.
“This is the last time you will see me introducing anyone.”
