Father’s Day celebrations across Kenya were marked by heartfelt tributes from families, celebrities and public figures. However, one notable absence caught the attention of fans online.
Content creator and actress Celestine Ndinda, popularly known as Wakavinye, did not publicly celebrate comedian Timothy Kimani, better known as Njugush, on Father’s Day, prompting discussion across social media platforms.
The development comes months after the couple confirmed the end of their long-term relationship, ending one of Kenya’s most recognisable celebrity partnerships. Njugush announced in April that they had mutually decided to separate after years together while continuing to co-parent their children.

For years, fans had become accustomed to seeing the pair exchange public messages during special occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries and Father’s Day celebrations.

Njugush, on the other hand, continued sharing content with his followers, receiving hundreds of messages from fans and fellow celebrities who praised him as a father and entertainer.
The absence of a tribute from Celestine quickly became a talking point among followers, with many linking it to the couple’s widely publicised separation.
"Sweet Revenge" Reactions Flood Social Media
Several comments appearing on Instagram and other social media platforms reflected the divided opinions among fans.
Among the reactions were:
@Mercy_Wanjiru: “Sweet revenge is silent. She doesn't owe anyone an explanation.”
@Kevin_Mwangi: “People should move on. They separated, and life continues.”
@Shiko_Njeri: “Father's Day is about appreciating fathers, but nobody should be forced to post.”
@Brian_Kimani: “The internet expected too much. Not every occasion needs a public message.”
Life After Separation
The pair built a successful brand around comedy, family content and entrepreneurship over more than a decade together.

Their separation surprised many fans, with the announcement generating widespread reactions across Kenya’s entertainment industry.
Despite the breakup, both have continued pursuing individual projects while maintaining a public focus on parenting and professional work.
