Gospel musician Eko Dydda has publicly congratulated Arrow Bwoy following his appearance at the Vurugu 2 celebrity boxing event, while also offering personal advice centred on faith and trust.
The comments came after Arrow Bwoy stepped into the ring against Ugandan businessman Shakib Cham Lutaaya during the Vurugu 2 event held at Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi.
The fight was among the headline attractions of the entertainment and boxing showcase organised by media personality Oga Obinna.
In his message, Eko Dydda first acknowledged Arrow Bwoy’s effort inside the ring despite the challenge of facing an opponent with boxing experience.
“Congratulations for yesterday. You really tried. You put on a show. Fighting a real boxer, someone who has been training professionally — you are good. I give you 90 out of 100.”
The gospel artiste noted that entering a boxing ring against someone who has trained professionally requires courage and discipline. Celebrity boxing events have increasingly drawn attention in East Africa by blending sport and entertainment, but they also expose participants to the realities of competitive combat.
Advice Beyond the Ring
After praising Arrow Bwoy’s performance, Eko Dydda shifted to what he described as two lessons from the experience. His first message focused on faith.
“This physical battle is not easy. The battle is not of the body — the battle is spiritual. Be saved and come join us so we can fight spiritual battles together.”
His second message focused on relationships and loyalty. Eko Dydda told Arrow Bwoy to be careful about placing too much trust in people around him. Referring to moments after the fight, he suggested that support in public spaces can quickly shift.
“Trust people at your own risk. You saw that the moment you were down and not fully aware, within minutes, people had already moved on and were celebrating elsewhere. Be careful with human beings.”
He ended the message with a blessing and words of encouragement.
“God bless.” The remarks have since added another layer of conversation around Vurugu 2, with fans discussing not only the fight itself but also the lessons different personalities have drawn from the event.
