Nairobi’s lifestyle scene is increasingly moving towards curated, experience-driven events rather than standard club nights.
One of the newest concepts driving conversation is Agave Affair, a tequila-focused festival designed to merge culture, education, music and nightlife into one extended experience.
The event taps into a global shift in drinking culture, where tequila is being repositioned from a “fast shot” spirit to a “sipping experience” similar to fine whisky.

This change is already visible across premium bars and festivals worldwide, and Nairobi is now stepping into that space. “Welcome to Nairobi’s Premium Tequila Experience.”
That is how organisers describe Agave Affair. The event is open to both tequila enthusiasts and first-time explorers, promising a guided journey through flavour, cocktails, and music.
Guests will learn about tequila, explore creative cocktail creations, enjoy immersive experiences, and dance the night away with their favourite DJs.
Agave Affair is designed as a 10-hour experience running from 4 PM to 2 AM. Unlike traditional nightlife events, the format is structured as a full-day festival.
Culture, education and heritage
Education is a core pillar of the experience. Guests will be introduced to the rich Mexican heritage behind tequila and the centuries-old traditions of blue agave cultivation.
Rather than a formal classroom setting, this knowledge is woven into the festival itself, allowing guests to engage with the story behind what they are drinking while still enjoying the social atmosphere.
A curated sonic journey
The entertainment programme follows what organisers call a “sonic journey” that evolves with the day.
Golden Hour brings warm Afrobeats to welcome guests. Early evening transitions into soulful Amapiano keys and basslines.

Peak evening shifts into deep Afro-house sets. Midnight brings timeless Hip-Hop and R&B throwbacks. The night closes with an eclectic Afro-fusion set. This progression is designed to match the changing energy of the crowd from afternoon to early morning.
Agave Affair is already gaining anticipation because it combines structured nightlife, cultural education, and immersive design in a way rarely seen in Nairobi.
The group-based ticket model is also fuelling interest.
“Every legendary night starts with one brave person opening the group chat — ‘Guys, we’re doing this.’”

Ticket bundles include five passes for KES 6,000, with early “captains” receiving an exclusive Agave Affair hoodie.
A one-time experience Nairobi cannot miss
What is driving urgency is the positioning of the event as a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Organisers emphasise that this is not a recurring club night, but a specially curated festival designed to stand out in Nairobi’s evolving entertainment landscape.
