Her remarks echoed sentiments she has shared in previous interviews, where she revealed that she got married at the age of 19 and remained in the marriage for 16 years before her husband left.

The Third Child Disagreement

According to Maria, when people get money, they tend to begin thinking that the person they are with is not as smart as they thought and that they want someone “smarter.”

"True to that, he left, because all these years later, I am still single. We had two children together, both named after his parents, and then I took a break. It took a long time, about nine years, before I got pregnant again. In fact, when I became pregnant, I did not even know. It was my husband who noticed that I was experiencing morning sickness when he was dropping me at the market as he continued driving one of the matatus every day. This was around 2005," she added.

Raising Three Children Alone

Following the separation, Maria was left with the responsibility of raising their three children.
