Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko found himself at the centre of online conversation once again after his luxury car collection attracted widespread attention during his daughter Janetta Nyamu's traditional wedding.
The colourful ceremony, held at the family's Mua Hills residence in Machakos County on June 13, brought together relatives, friends and invited guests to celebrate Janetta's marriage to filmmaker Elvis Kintu. According to Nairobi-based car dealer Denis Kimanthi, the collection seen during the wedding could be worth approximately KSh 150 million. He estimated the Range Rover Vogue at around KSh 45 million, each Mercedes G63 at roughly KSh 30 million and the BMW i7 at about KSh 25 million.
The display reinforced Sonko's long-established reputation for luxury living. Over the years, he has frequently shared glimpses of his collection of premium vehicles, designer fashion and exclusive gadgets.
