Maina admitted that another European side has also caught his attention.
“My heart is in Germany, but my mind is in Portugal.”

“My dark horse is Portugal. They have young players who are under the radar, and I think they will do well.”
Maina also highlighted France as one of the teams with a realistic chance of lifting the trophy, citing the country’s attacking strength.
“France has got a chance because of their attacking.”

King’ang’i Backs Spain and Argentina

King’ang’i revealed that he will be supporting Spain and Argentina during the tournament.
The presenter said Spain remains his preferred team but admitted he would like to see Lionel Messi enjoy success on football’s biggest stage.
“I support Spain and Argentina. I would wish to see Messi win.”
However, Maina was less convinced that Argentina’s captain can lead his side to glory this time around.
“I don’t think Messi will win it because he is too old.”
The comment sparked a light-hearted exchange between the presenters as they discussed the prospects of several footballing giants.

From Brazil to Spain

King’ang’i also revealed that Brazil was once his favourite national team before he switched allegiance.
In a humorous observation, he suggested that many members of the Kamba community support Brazil because of the team’s famous yellow jersey.

“My former team was Brazil. All Kambas support Brazil because of the colour yellow.”

Brazil remain the most successful nation in World Cup history with five titles and continues to enjoy a huge following worldwide.
