Pastor T Mwangi has opened up about the disturbing experiences he encountered as a child, revealing that he was exposed to drugs, pornography and other adult influences while still in primary school.
Speaking during a recent conversation on digital media personality and preacher Kathy Kiuna's online platform, the Life Church International founder reflected on his upbringing and the challenges he faced growing up away from close parental supervision.
The preacher said some of the experiences he encountered at a young age would later shape his views on parenting and child development.
Childhood Experiences That Left a Mark
According to Pastor T, his exposure to harmful influences began when he was still in primary school and living in a boarding school environment.
He recalled that children were introduced to behaviours and materials far beyond their age.
"I was exposed to drugs when I was very young. I was exposed to pornography when I was still in primary school."
He noted that many parents may not realise the extent of what some children encounter while away from home.
"There are things we saw and things we heard that children should never be exposed to at that age."
Warning Against Early Boarding School Enrolment
Pastor T's comments are consistent with views he has previously shared regarding boarding schools and childhood development.
In earlier interviews, he revealed that he was sent to boarding school while in Class Four, an experience he believes deprived him of parental guidance during critical years of his growth. He argued that children who leave home too early can miss out on daily instruction and mentorship from their parents.
"You lose the counsel of your parents."
He has maintained that children need consistent interaction with both parents during their formative years, saying family values are often shaped through everyday conversations and guidance rather than occasional visits.
From Troubled Youth to Ministry
Pastor T has never shied away from discussing difficult chapters of his life.
Over the years, he has spoken publicly about his youthful struggles, including alcohol abuse, reckless living and other choices he later regretted before embracing Christianity.
During the discussion with Kathy Kiuna, , he said his childhood experiences exposed him to realities that many adults would find shocking.
The preacher stressed that early exposure to drugs and explicit content can have long-term consequences if children do not receive proper guidance and support.
"Some of these things affected how we viewed life and relationships."

"Children need guidance. They need conversations. They need parents who are present."
