Kenyan rapper and entrepreneur King Kaka has spoken candidly about life after his marriage ended, admitting that he was just as surprised by the separation as many of hisfans.Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen while promoting his latest music project, the artist reflected on the collapse of his 13-year relationship with media personality NanaOwiti,saying the experience caught him off guard.
The former couple officially announced the end of their marriage in December 2024 through a joint statement. At the time, they said the decision had been made after careful reflection and emphasised their commitment to co-parenting their three children.
During the interview, King Kaka said he never expected the relationship to end.

“When you get into a relationship, you never know if it will end or not. It is life. The marriage shocked so many people; I was also shocked.”
The rapper explained that living alone after the separation had taught him important life lessons, including cooking and becoming more self-reliant.
He recalled one occasion when he arrived home late and found nothing prepared for dinner.
“I had to eat Weetabix and soda. That is when I realised I needed to learn how to cook.”
The musician said the experience pushed him to adapt to a new lifestyle after years of family life.

Searching for a new partner
While King Kaka said he is not rushing into another marriage, he acknowledged that he is open to finding love again.
According to the rapper, many women have reached out to him since he publicly confirmed he was single.
“Many ladies have come out. I did not even know I was loved this much.”
He added: “I have yet to get a replacement. But I am almost getting one. As a human being, you cannot live alone. It is too early to say I will get married, but I am planning for myself.”

The artist also revealed that he maintains a healthy co-parenting relationship with Nana Owiti and regularly spends time with their children.
“Co-parenting is okay. I take the kids over the weekend. We talk daily.”
