Kenyan musician and online personality Toxic Lyrical has opened up about a frightening encounter in Nairobi’s Kiamaiko area, claiming he was attacked by a crowd and threatened with a knife during a chaotic confrontation that left him fearing for his safety.
Speaking on the Xtraordinary Podcast, the entertainer described how events unfolded after tensions erupted around a vehicle he was driving while accompanied by friends, including an associate identified as Gwash.
According to Toxic Lyrical, he started the vehicle and attempted to reverse away from the scene after noticing a growing crowd gathering around his companion.

“I could only see what was happening behind me. People had surrounded Gwash, and I was trying to move away from the situation,” he said.
Chaos as Vehicle Gets Stuck
The musician explained that while reversing, the vehicle became stuck after climbing onto a raised section of the road.

“People started saying I wanted to run them over. They came to the car and opened the door,” Toxic recalled.
The artist alleged that some members of the crowd then attempted to forcefully remove him from the vehicle. During the struggle, he said his shirt was torn as he resisted being pulled out.
Alleged Knife Threat
Toxic claimed the confrontation took a more dangerous turn when one of the individuals produced a knife and threatened him.
According to his account, he reacted by grabbing hold of the weapon and restraining the individual to protect himself from being stabbed.
“One of them pulled out a knife and threatened me. I held onto him because I felt my life was in danger,” he said.
The musician stated that he remained inside the vehicle and only agreed to release the individual after the crowd calmed down. He claimed the man eventually instructed those around him to back away, helping to ease tensions.
Police Intervention
Toxic said the disturbance attracted the attention of nearby residents, causing more people to gather at the scene within a short period.
Police officers later arrived after receiving reports of the commotion. According to the musician, officers questioned him about the vehicle and directed that both he and the car be taken to the police station for further inquiries.
“The officers found me there and told me we had to go to the station with the vehicle,” he recounted.
The musician’s revelations have generated discussion online, with many social media users expressing concern about incidents of mob justice and public safety in Nairobi’s informal settlements. No official statement from the police regarding the allegations had been issued at the time of publication.
