The family, friends, and colleagues of the late Radio Jambo football commentator, Paul Kimathi Kaberia, popularly known as Diblo, gathered at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi for an emotional requiem mass, held on Thursday ahead of his burial on Saturday in his home in Meru. Diblo, who passed away two weeks ago, was remembered as a passionate sports figure.
The atmosphere in the cathedral was deeply moving. In a
poignant tribute to his love for football, his family members stood at the
pulpit to eulogize him while dressed in Arsenal football jerseys.
Young family members were seen speaking at the podium, their expressions somber as they honoured his memory. A relative, dressed in a black dress, also shared reflections with the congregation while other family members, still wearing the Arsenal jerseys, stood by her side in a display of unity and grief.
The service was attended by numerous mourners, including
friends and workmates, who sat in the pews listening to the tributes. Prominent
figures from the media and sports fraternity were present, with some seen
addressing the congregation from the pulpit to share their own memories of the
commentator.
