Kenyan news anchor and broadcaster Shiksha Arora recently took part in a candid interview with media personality Kalondu Musyimi during a Mpasho quickfire segment.
The conversation offered viewers an engaging look into the personal life and routine of the television presenter, who currently anchors news at TV47 following previous broadcast roles at KBC.
Throughout the session, Arora addressed personal boundaries, daily communication habits, and her favourite dishes.
Drawing the Line on Age
When asked directly about her age during the quickfire session, Arora firmly declined to state a specific figure, setting a clear boundary regarding her personal details.

"Huh! Are you asking a lady her age? I can tell you something: I’m a millennial; I am not a Gen-Z. Let’s leave it at that."
Raised in the Ngara area of Nairobi, the former microbiology student shifted into media after completing a master’s degree in broadcast journalism.
Texting Without Emojis
Arora also explained her personal texting style, revealing why she rarely relies on standard digital icons when communicating.
"As millennials, we don’t use emojis a lot. We just say ‘LOL’ after every sentence."
Rather than inserting graphics, Arora relies on written acronyms and letter formatting to convey laughter in text messages.
"I do ‘Haha’. I do ‘lol’ in capital letters, with triple ‘L’."

The conversation turned to food, with Arora revealing her specific culinary preferences. Her favourite meals consist of rice dishes, specifically pilau and biryani.
Conversely, she named omena as her least favourite meal. When asked about her skills in the kitchen, Arora identified butter chicken as the dish she cooks best.
Shiksha Arora is popularly known as "Kenya's Dancing Anchor" for combining news broadcasting with viral dance routines in the newsroom.
