Popular Kenyan radio host and comedian Dr Ofweneke has publicly aired his dissatisfaction with men who prioritize women over their own primary needs.
The presenter, on his latest radio programme, addressed a specific group of listeners who spend significant sums on entertainment for women. He highlighted the irony of men buying premium alcohol and shisha in clubs while their own wardrobe essentials—specifically their underwear—are in a state of disrepair.
A Question of Self-Care
The comedian did not mince his words when describing the scenario. He pointed out that some men are consistently "sending money" and funding expensive lifestyles for their companions while wearing torn boxers.
"There is someone listening to me right now; you are buying women alcohol and shisha and your own boxers are torn. Are you okay?" Ofweneke stated.

He went further to question the logic behind this behaviour, asking his audience if they were truly "okay" mentally for choosing to "send money" repeatedly instead of investing in their own dignity.
The Man Behind the Mic
Dr Ofweneke, whose real name is Sande Bush, has established himself as one of East Africa’s most versatile entertainers. Currently a lead presenter at Radio 47, he has built a career spanning over a decade as a comedian, songwriter, and high-end corporate MC.
He is particularly famous for his signature Nigerian accent persona, which he used to break into the industry. Over the years, he has transitioned into a more serious "relationship coach" role on air, often viral for his blunt takes on modern dating and financial discipline.
Financial Trends and Social Pressure
The presenter’s comments tap into a wider social discussion regarding "simping" and the pressure on men to provide a certain image in social settings. Recent economic reports in Kenya show a steady rise in "sin tax" revenue, indicating high spending on alcohol and tobacco products despite a rising cost of living.
Industry data suggests that the entertainment sector remains resilient, with many young professionals spending a significant portion of their disposable income on nightlife.

The clip of his radio session has since been widely shared on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. It has garnered thousands of views and sparked a debate between those who find his delivery hilarious and those who see it as a necessary wake-up call for young men.
