Kenyan comedian and content creator Timothy Kimani turned a year older on Wednesday, May 20, but this year’s celebrations came with a noticeable difference that fans were quick to point out.
For years, fans had grown used to seeing heartfelt birthday tributes exchanged between Njugush and his former partner Celestine Ndinda on social media.
However, this time around, Wakavinye remained silent online, sparking widespread debate among followers.

A section of fans defended Wakavinye, arguing that the former couple had already publicly confirmed their separation and should not be pressured into maintaining online appearances.
Instagram user @ShirohWaMaina wrote: “She doesn’t owe anyone a birthday post anymore. They already said they separated peacefully.”
Another follower, @Kariuki254, commented: “People need to let them move on. Co-parenting doesn’t mean public birthday wishes.”
Others, however, felt a simple message would have reassured longtime supporters of the couple, many of whom still struggle to accept the breakup.

Njugush Previously Confirmed Their Separation
Earlier this year, Njugush publicly revealed that he and Celestine had ended their relationship in 2025 after making what he described as a mutual decision.
In a statement shared online, the comedian explained that they had chosen to separate respectfully while prioritising the wellbeing of their two children.
“Last year, we made the decision to part ways after much thought and with mutual respect. We have been co-parenting, and our children remain our top priority,” part of the statement read.

Since the breakup announcement, both entertainers have continued pursuing their individual projects.
Njugush is currently preparing for the sixth edition of his stand-up comedy show, Through Thick and Thin (TTNT 6). The upcoming edition marks the first time he will perform without Wakavinye after the pair previously worked together on all earlier seasons.
