President William Ruto on Wednesday started his two-day state visit to Kazakhstan with a formal and ceremonial reception in the capital Astana, marking the start of a diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

Accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto, the President was received at the iconic Astana Independence Palace, where he was accorded full state honours upon arrival.

Ruto’s convoy made a coordinated entry into the presidential complex under tight security, with motorcade vehicles escorted through designated ceremonial routes before arriving at the main forecourt of the palace. Guard formations and protocol officials lined the venue as the Kenyan leader stepped out for the official welcome.
