‎“Halafu band nimeona kuna mjamaa alikuwa na ile kitu ya kuimba imeraruka so I will give you another one million,” he said.

‎Ruto also promised to support the school’s teaching fraternity, although he did not disclose the amount.

‎The Head of State used the occasion to praise the school’s rich history, describing Maseno as one of Kenya’s enduring symbols of academic excellence and leadership development.

‎“For 120 years, Maseno School has stood not merely as a centre of learning, but as a living monument to the enduring power of education, discipline, leadership, service and nationhood,” he said.

‎He noted that generations of students who passed through the institution had carried the hopes of families and communities, producing leaders, scholars, clergy, scientists and public servants who helped shape Kenya and East Africa.

‎“Empires have risen and faded. Governments have changed. Political seasons have come and gone. Yet, Maseno has endured,” Ruto said.

‎The President said the government would continue investing in the institution, including upgrading some of the historic learning facilities established by the Church Missionary Society in 1906.

‎“While many schools rise and fall with seasons and circumstances, Maseno has consistently remained among the leading centres of academic excellence in Kenya. That consistency is not accidental. It is the product of culture, discipline, institutional pride and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” he added.

‎The celebrations brought together senior national and county leaders, alumni and education stakeholders.

‎Ruto was accompanied by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi and Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, among other leaders.
