The Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) has opened its doors to politicians seeking to contest various elective positions on the party’s ticket in the August 10, 2027 General Election.

In a notice, the party invited prospective candidates interested in running for elective positions to register as WPF aspirants on or before October 3, 2026.

The party also called on individuals seeking nomination through WPF party lists to register ahead of the 2027 elections

“As the 2027 elections approach, the Wiper Patriotic Front invites persons interested to vie for various positions in the 10th August 2027 General Election on a WPF ticket to register as WPF aspirants on or before 3rd October, 2026,” the party said.

WPF said those interested in being nominated under the various party-list categories were also eligible to register.

The party has directed prospective aspirants to complete their applications online through its official website. The application forms are available on the party’s aspirants portal.

WPF has also urged all prospective candidates to verify their membership status before submitting their applications.

The party said members could reconfirm their membership by dialling *509# and following the prompts provided.

Those who are not WPF members have been directed to register for membership through the party’s website before proceeding with the aspirant registration process.

The opening of the registration window comes as political parties begin preparations for the 2027 General Election, with prospective candidates expected to position themselves for nominations in their respective constituencies and wards.

WPF has set different registration fees depending on the elective position and category of the aspirant, with women, youth and persons with disabilities benefiting from reduced fees.

Candidates seeking the governorship will pay Sh50,000, while women, youth and persons with disabilities will pay Sh25,000.

For the Senate, the application fee has been set at Sh20,000 for applicants, while women, youth and persons with disabilities will pay Sh10,000.

The party has also set the application fee for Member of the National Assembly positions at Sh20,000 for general applicants, while women, youth and persons with disabilities will pay Sh10,000.

Candidates seeking the County Woman Representative position will pay Sh20,000, with the fee for women, youth and persons with disabilities set at Sh10,000.

For the Member of County Assembly position, WPF has set the application fee at Sh10,000 for general applicants and Sh5,000 for women, youth and persons with disabilities.

The party said the registration process was part of its preparations for the 2027 polls and urged interested candidates to comply with the October 3 deadline.

With the 2027 election expected to trigger intensified competition for party tickets, the registration process will also offer prospective candidates an opportunity to formally express their interest before parties embark on the nomination phase.
