Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the creative industry, describing it as a key driver of employment and social transformation among young people.
Murkomen spoke after meeting musician and comedian Christopher Nyangwara, popularly known as Embarambamba, alongside Kisii Woman Representative Doris Donya.
“We continue to support the creative industry because it is a critical source of employment for many young people and a powerful tool for promoting positive change in society,” he said.
The meeting brought together leadership and talent from the entertainment sector, highlighting the role of artists in influencing public attitudes and shaping conversations within communities.
Embarambamba, known for his energetic performances and distinctive style, has built a strong following across different regions.

“This morning, I had the pleasure of meeting talented musician and comedian Christopher Nyangwara, alias Embarambamba, in the company of Kisii County MP Doris Donya,” he said.

He urged the entertainer to focus his messaging on issues affecting society, including substance abuse and social cohesion.
“I encouraged Embarambamba to harness his talents and wide reach to champion positive values, fight drugs and alcohol abuse, and nurture a spirit of unity and cohesion among our communities,” Murkomen said.
