A postmortem on the body of Murang'a University ICT student and influencer Constance Githinji revealed the body had multiple injuries.
The report indicated multiple injuries on her body, including broken limbs, head abrasions, and signs of blunt force trauma.
One lung had collapsed, according to the family's spokesperson.
Speaking to the media after the release of the results, Constance’s aunt detailed the extent of her injuries, some of which she is said to have sustained before the fall.
“Our niece had multiple injuries on various parts of her body. Her left hand was broken, both her legs were also broken, and she had abrasions on the back of her head. She had also been struck by a blunt object, and her left lung had collapsed,” she said.
Earlier reports said that the cause of death on the 22-year-old was due to her falling from the sixth floor of a short stay room in Kileleshwa.
Constance, fondly known to many as Connie, died on Sunday, April 26, after allegedly falling from the sixth floor of a short-stay apartment in Kileleshwa.
A man identified as Tony Odhiambo, who was in her company at the time of the incident, was arrested and later arraigned under a miscellaneous application for custodial orders pending a probe.
A postmortem conducted on Thursday, April 30, established that the young influencer had multiple injuries, which is now under the probe by homicide detectives who attended the sessions.
Odhiambo had distanced himself from Constance’s death, alleging that she had harmed herself, leading to the fatality.
The postmortem was conducted by government pathologists alongside those appointed by the family, as well as officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The family further revealed that Constance’s body has since been moved from the Nairobi Funeral Home to the Kenyatta University Funeral Home as burial preparations begin ahead of her send-off next week.
The suspect was remanded for 10 days as police continue with investigations. Detectives revisited the scene of the incident on Wednesday as part of their probe into the death.
They reconstructed the scene as they indicated they were open to murder probe.
The two are said to have met on an online dating app with Constance travelling from Murang'a to meet him for the first time.
The man told police the woman jumped off the room.
Police said it was her first meeting with a man who is now in custody over her death.
The man is cooperating with investigators, officials said.
According to the police, the incident occurred on April 26, 2026, at around 5.00 am.
Police said she had fallen from the 6th floor of Block C, House and landed on the 3rd basement level, sustaining fatal injuries.
Police noted visible injuries on the head, ribs, and hands.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased had been in the company of the man during the night of April 25–26 at the short stay apartment within the building.
Security cameras captured her arrival with the man just minutes before chaos erupted inside the apartment.
By dawn, her body lay on the ground floor and the man insisted she jumped.
Constance arrived at 4.17 am on Sunday with the man.
At 4.32 am a disturbance broke out inside the unit.
The door flew open, and a guard entered briefly before leaving.
Constance was last seen alive shortly after the guard’s departure. Her body was found at 5.30 am on the ground floor.
The apartment was booked by the man’s friend, not him. Earlier occupants, two women and one man checked out just before 4 am.
Her family and friends have demanded justice.
This is the latest such incident to happen at a short stay room involving a woman.
