Cautionary measures when driving in the rain/WILLIAM WANYOIKE

Motorists have been urged to exercise extra caution when driving during rainy conditions to reduce accidents and traffic disruptions.

According to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), several safety measures can help drivers navigate wet roads safely.

Drivers are advised to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and reduce speed since braking and stopping are more difficult on slippery surfaces.

Turning on headlights whenever it is raining is also recommended to improve visibility for both the driver and oncoming traffic.

The NTSA further advises motorists to always use windshield wipers to clear raindrops from the windscreen, ensuring a clear view of the road.
