Kennedy Rapudo Sets Record Straight on Getting Amber Ray a Co-Wife

Businessman Kennedy Rapudo has set the record straight regarding his marriage to socialite Amber Ray. Speaking during a recent podcast interview with Alex Mwakideu, the private entrepreneur addressed the recurring public debate about polygamy and his family structure.

Rapudo, who has often been the subject of online scrutiny due to his high-profile relationship, dismissed the idea of bringing home a co-wife. He stated firmly that such a setup does not align with his current household.

No Room for a Co-Wife

Despite the cultural prominence of polygamous setups in certain circles, Rapudo made it clear that he is not looking to expand his marriage. He credited his contentment to his relationship with Amber Ray, with whom he has been for four years.

"In my house I don't think [polygamy] can happen. Amber Ray can handle me. I'm completely satisfied with her,” he said.

He further explained that being in a committed relationship is about intentionality. He believes that if he felt the need to entertain others, it would be more respectful to end the current relationship rather than pursue polygamy.

Polygamy Prospects

Kennedy Rapudo also observed that while previous generations, such as their parents and grandparents, lived within rigid structures where families rarely broke up, the current era is defined by frequent separations and the rise of blended families.

Regarding polygamy, he notes that he rarely sees young people in the modern generation officially "officiating" multiple wives in the way it may have been handled in the past.

“I don’t know much about polygamy, I think our parents mostly were in their polygamous setups. But the current generation, I’ve not seen young people who are polygamous. Maybe those with side chics, but I’ve not seen like them officiating it,” he said.

For his own household, Rapudo maintains that marriage is about intentionality and contentment. He believes that if a person feels the need to entertain others, it is more respectful to simply end the relationship, as he is completely satisfied with Amber Ray

The Reality of the Blended Family

The couple manages a complex but harmonious blended family. Between them, they care for four children. Rapudo entered the relationship with two children, while Amber Ray had one son, Gavin. Together, they have a daughter named Africana.

Rapudo takes full financial responsibility for all four children, including paying 100% of their school fees. He maintains a mature relationship with the biological fathers of the other children, noting that he does not wish to replace them.

"It’s called maturity... Let’s just all be parents. Let’s just all be friends."

Business and Financial Discipline

Outside of family life, Rapudo is a stakeholder in the tourism and travel industry. He attributes his financial success to discipline, structure, and patience. He also noted that he prefers to keep many of his business ventures private.

He follows a strict philosophy regarding household finances. While he acknowledges that Amber Ray is a successful business lady and one of Kenya's highest-paid club hosts, he believes the primary financial burden should rest on the man.
