The Kenyan entertainment industry is currently navigating a period of significant transition and public heartbreak. A wave of reactions recently swept across the nation’s online spaces following news that a major comedy couple has separated.
Njugush and his wife, Celestine Ndinda, recently confirmed the end of their marriage. The pair were widely celebrated for their family-centred content and a long-term partnership that spanned over a decade.
Their split has sparked a nationwide conversation regarding the stability of high-profile celebrity unions.
A Public Outcry
Initially, comedian Terence Creative kept his reaction brief, simply posting that the news was sad.
However, as the conversation around crumbling marriages intensified, Terence took to Instagram to share a more profound message.
Having been with his wife, Milly Chebby, for 13 years, the content creator chose to focus on the concept of restoration.
“Not every struggling marriage is meant to end; some are meant to be fought for, prayed over, and rebuilt stronger.”
Looking Back to Move Forward
Terence shared photos of himself and Milly Chebby from what he described as their struggling era. These images highlighted the couple's journey from humble beginnings to their current status.

He used his platform to issue a public prayer for his own union and others facing similar trials. He called for a shift in how society views marital difficulties.

“Let’s be a generation that chooses healing over failure, covering marriages in prayer instead of speaking against them,” he urged.
“I cancel every ill word, negative prayer, and bad omen spoken over my marriage and others may peace, strength, and restoration prevail,” Terence added.
The Internal Architecture of Unions
The recent string of breakups has prompted veterans in the media industry to speak out on the realities of wedlock. Former radio presenter Jeridah Andayi described marriage as one of the most difficult relationships to maintain.
She noted that while the public is often fascinated by "perfect" couples, the internal reality is far more strenuous. According to Andayi, marriage is uniquely challenging because it requires two individuals from different backgrounds to merge their lives into one unit.
The news of the "Kimani" split on 21 April 2026 was met with immediate shock from fellow celebrities. Media personality Oga Obinna and content creator Milly Chebby were among those expressing disbelief online.

Others like Baba Talisha questioned the marriage institution itself saying, “Ama ndoa ni udevoworshipa.”
However, Milly Wa Jesus offered a more reflective and hopeful perspective saying, “Sad to hear. Every marriage has its own story. Some end, some endure, but the idea of marriage itself is still worth believing in #marriageworks.”
