Celebrations in Rongo Town in Migori county following successful Repeat Phase II Grassroots Elections.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has concluded its Phase II repeat grassroots elections in several parts of the country, with party members breaking into celebrations as newly elected officials received their certificates across different polling centres.

The exercise, which was conducted in various counties including Migori, Siaya, Kisumu, Mombasa, Kisii and Bungoma, saw the issuance of certificates to winners underway in several constituencies as others completed tallying and announcement of results.

In Migori county, celebrations erupted in Rongo Town and Suna East constituency after members elected new grassroots officials.

In Nyatike constituency, former MP Edick Anyanga was among those who received his certificate of election at Magungu polling centre following the conclusion of voting.

Siaya county also witnessed jubilant scenes as members celebrated the successful conclusion of the exercise across all polling centres, with newly elected officials taking over party structures at the grassroots level.

In Kisumu CBD, supporters gathered to mark the end of the polls, while similar celebrations were reported in various parts of Mombasa county where voting proceeded smoothly before certificates were issued to winners.

In Kisii county, party members in Bonchari constituency cast their votes at Nyangoge polling centre in Bomorenda ward, with the exercise concluding peacefully.

In Bungoma county, Kimilili Member of Parliament Didimus Barasa participated in the polls, casting his vote at Kimilili DEB Comprehensive School.

UDA said the elections were supported by an end-to-end technology system that enabled results to be announced shortly after the close of voting in several polling centres.

In Mombasa’s Kisauni constituency, St. Elizabeth Primary polling centre in Bamburi ward not only concluded voting but also immediately issued certificates of election to newly elected officials as they prepared to assume office.

The party noted that the process proceeded smoothly across most areas, with officers supervising voting and ensuring transparency in the exercise.
