Car dealer and social media personality Khalif Kairo has ignited debate online after sharing a message urging people to exercise caution when dealing with individuals who identify as religious leaders.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Kairo stated: “If somebody ever tells you that they are a pastor or claims they are an agent of God, treat them with the utmost care and respect.
You can attract a curse by pointing a finger at them.” His remarks quickly gained traction, drawing widespread attention and sparking conversations around religion, respect, and accountability.

Viral Matatu Incident Sparks Online Debate

The post came in the wake of a viral video showing a woman confronting a pastor who was preaching inside a matatu.
In the clip, the woman is seen questioning the preacher as he addresses passengers during the journey, leading to a tense exchange that has since circulated widely across social media platforms.
The incident has highlighted the everyday realities of public transport spaces in cities like Nairobi, where matatus often double as informal spaces for social interaction, entertainment, and at times, religious expression such as preaching.

Some users supported the preacher and emphasised the need for tolerance, with comments such as “If the person is not disrespecting you, let them be” and “He is there to win souls for Christ, so just mind your own business.”

Those supposed church people are the reason we are in such a mess as a country” and “This is what it means doing it for views 😢.”
