A new entertainment hub in Nairobi is blending fun with social impact after its official launch at Rhapta Promenade Mall, accompanied by a Sh100,000 donation to support young creatives from Mathare.
Smash & Play Rhapta opened its doors on April 18, introducing a high-energy recreational space designed for people of all ages.
But beyond the games and attractions, the launch was marked by a strong community focus through its “Play Bigger, Feel Alive, Play for a Cause” campaign.
As part of the initiative, the facility donated Sh100,000 to Mathare Kids Talent Hub to promote dance and creative expression among children in the informal settlement.
“Today’s donation of Sh100,000 is just the beginning Smash & Play is committed to continuously supporting these young talents, both in cash and in kind, as they pursue their dreams and uplift their community," Imran Noorani, CEO of Rhapta Promenade Mall said.

The new venue positions itself as more than just a leisure spot. It aims to redefine how Nairobi residents experience entertainment by combining interactive activities with a sense of purpose.
Inside the facility, visitors are treated to a wide range of attractions. Guests can ride bumper cars, play mini golf, explore virtual reality experiences, and compete on gaming consoles. Other activities include foosball, air hockey, and pool.
Younger visitors have access to a dedicated Kids Play Park, while creative activities such as bracelet making, painting, and face painting are also available.
There is also a party room designed for birthdays and special celebrations, catering to families and groups looking for unique social experiences.
According to Noorani, the concept behind Smash & Play is rooted in a broader vision.
“Smash & Play was born from a simple but powerful belief that play has the ability to unlock something greater in all of us. Our vision is to create a space where both kids and adults are inspired to play bigger, feel truly alive, and play for a cause that extends beyond themselves,” he said.
The launch comes at a time when Nairobi’s social scene is evolving, with more people seeking engaging, shared experiences beyond traditional outings. Smash & Play taps into this shift by offering an environment built around interaction, creativity, and connection.
While the games form the core attraction, the integration of community support sets the facility apart. By linking entertainment with social impact, Smash & Play is positioning itself as a space where enjoyment goes hand in hand with giving back.
For the children of Mathare Kids Talent Hub, the partnership signals new opportunities. For Nairobi residents, it introduces a fresh way to experience leisure—one that carries meaning beyond the moment.
