Police in Rachuonyo South sub-county are searching for a woman suspected of killing her brother-in-law following a reported domestic dispute in Homa Bay County.
According to a police report from Oyugis Police Station, the body of Kennedy Okoth Dola, a 37-year-old man, was found on the night of April 5, 2026, in the compound of his sister-in-law, who is the main suspect in the case.
The report states that officers responded to the scene at about 11:05 pm and found the deceased with a deep stab wound on the left side of the neck.
Police said preliminary information indicated that earlier that evening, at around 8:00 pm, the deceased had gone to the suspect’s house, where an argument reportedly broke out.
The disagreement is said to have escalated, with claims of threats being exchanged before the suspect allegedly stabbed him.
The suspect is reported to have fled the scene after the incident.
Officers said they recovered a bucket with blood stains and a recently cleaned kitchen knife from the suspect’s kitchen.
The items are believed to be linked to the incident and will form part of the investigations.
Police further indicated that the two had been involved in a long-standing land boundary dispute.
The scene was processed and documented, and the body was moved to Rachuonyo County Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
Police said efforts to trace and arrest the suspect are ongoing.
