Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director Captain William Ruto is receiving treatment in Mombasa after he and his family were involved in a road accident on Friday, April 3, in Taita Taveta County. The incident resulted in the death of his daughter, while Ruto and two other family members survived with injuries and were placed under medical care.

In a statement issued on Saturday, April 4, KPA confirmed the tragic accident, noting that the CEO had been travelling with his family at the time of the crash. The authority stated that his daughter did not survive the accident and extended condolences to the family during what it described as a period of immense grief.
The organisation further indicated that Captain Ruto and the remaining family members were in stable condition and under close medical supervision in Mombasa. Authorities are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the accident, with investigations already underway.
