Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka/FILEWiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Wednesday shared a personal anecdote about former President Uhuru Kenyatta during the burial of former Kirinyaga Senator Daniel Karaba in Kirinyaga, describing it as a moment that shaped his outlook on the country.
“I said I was going to embarrass my brother, because he once looked me in the face and told me, ‘Steven, the problem with you is you’re too good,” Kalonzo told mourners.
“My brother, all these days, we have decided this is revolution time. This is not going to be normal.”
He recalled, while referencing past consultation meetings with senior political leaders, including Raila Odinga, James Orengo, and Anyang’ Nyong’o, noting that such engagements encouraged him and gave him hope for the nation’s future.
“You remember a meeting we had with our brother, Raila Odinga, Uhuru Kenyatta, James Orengo, and Anyang’ Nyong’o. I met you there in deep conversation after the JC revolution, and you will remember what our brother told us,” he said.
“I will not repeat it here, but seeing you, I’m very optimistic that even like every other part of this country, from Mandera to the lake, from the coast to everywhere, it’s revolution time. Our children could not have died in vain, and we pretend that all is well.”
Kalonzo’s remarks were delivered during the burial of former Kirinyaga Senator Daniel Karaba, who passed away recently and was remembered for his service and commitment to regional development.
The burial brought together leaders and mourners from across the country, who paid tribute to Karaba for his service as senator and his contributions to regional politics.
Kalonzo used the occasion to encourage unity and reflection, emphasising the importance of learning from past leadership while striving to ensure progress across the country.
He said that reflecting on past engagements with senior statesmen continues to shape his approach as he considers his role in guiding the country toward progress.
