A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed during an altercation in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area.
Police said he was attacked by his friends during the incident on Sunday, March 29.
Three suspects linked to the attack have since been arrested and are pending arraignment, police said on Tuesday.
Authorities added that the body of the deceased had stab wounds to the chest and back when it was discovered and later moved to the mortuary for further procedures.
It remains unclear what triggered the fight that turned fatal. The victim was a student at a local school.
A video recorded at the scene showed about ten young boys running and clashing before the deceased fell as he was being stabbed.
The assailants fled the scene but were later traced and arrested, Nairobi police boss Isaa Mohamud said.
Such violent attacks among youths in the area have been on the rise, even as efforts continue to address the trend.
Police said some of the youths linked to the incidents have been arrested and prosecuted on various charges.
