
Police are investigating the murder of a 17-year-old boy in a village in Asembo, Siaya county.
The incident happened as the victim and a friend were leaving a night vigil in Boi village on March 23, police said.
The motive of the murder was not immediately known. The victim’s body was found lying on the roadside with a deep cut in the neck.
The second victim also had a deep cut and was rushed to a local hospital and admitted in a serious but stable condition, police said.
The surviving victim told police he can identify their assailants. The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary pending postmortem and other investigations.
Elsewhere in Rongai, Nakuru county, a man died in hospital after assault.
Police said they are now investigating murder in the incident that happened on March 20.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and postmortem.
In Lumakanda, Kakamega county, the body of one Paolo Mukhwana, 40, was found lying on the roadside after suspected murder.
Police said the body had visible injuries in the head.
The deceased was a welder in the area and the motive of the murder was not immediately known.
The body was moved to the mortuary for postmortem.
In Ndigwa, Rarieda in Siaya county, the body of Nicholas Okoth was found lying at a local centre after a suspected murder.
Police said the body did not have any visible injuries when it was discovered on Sunday by residents and was later moved to the mortuary for postmortem.
And police said they arrested a suspect in the murder of one Abdirahman Adow in Garissa town.
The suspect, who is said to be a friend to the deceased, allegedly stabbed him fatally on March 21.
Police said he will be processed for arraignment.
Elsewhere in Harambee, Kakamega county, the body of a man was found in a sugarcane plantation after a suspected murder.
The body had multiple injuries when it was discovered on Monday, police said adding his right eye had been gouged out.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and postmortem, police said.
Police said they are investigating murder in the incident and that they were yet to establish the motive.
Murder incidents have been on the rise amid efforts to solve them. Police say most of the incidents are linked to love triangle, land disputes and deals gone bad.
