Struggles Behind the Scenes
Rotimi detailed how the pressures of life and career contributed to his reliance on alcohol. He noted that during this period, he experienced anxiety and emotional strain, which led him to seek temporary relief through drinking.
He recalled consuming drinks such as tequila and vodka while alone, hoping to unwind. However, the aftermath of these episodes often left him physically exhausted and emotionally drained for days.
“Two to three days later, they would be the most painful days,” he explained.
The actor added that despite these effects, he still had to maintain his professional responsibilities, which made the experience even more challenging.
Turning Point and Recovery
Rotimi stated that his journey toward recovery began when he recognised deeper underlying issues, including emotional pain and a sense of disconnection in his personal life. He credited his faith, personal reflection, and support system for helping him move away from alcohol.
