Sky Victor, the daughter of the well-known preacher Victor Kanyari and late gospel singer Betty Bayo, has opened up about her deepening connection to her mother’s musical legacy.
During a recent live session on TikTok, the young influencer shared a personal shift in her musical tastes that has surprised and delighted many of her followers.
Sky revealed that she has recently developed a profound love for her mother’s songs. This change in her listening habits began last year. She told her viewers that she now finds herself drawn to every track her mother has produced.
"I don’t know, ever since last year, like I have just been loving my mum’s songs, every one of them,” she said.
Connecting Through Melodies
Sky admitted that while she is her mother's biggest fan, there is a small hurdle. Her mother’s discography is a mix of Kikuyu and Swahili. Because she is still mastering the languages, Sky explained that she has not yet memorised all the lyrics.
Despite this, the emotional impact of the music remains strong. She spends a significant amount of her time listening to these tracks, finding comfort and joy in the familiar voice of her mother. This newfound appreciation marks a significant moment for the teenager as she matures in the public eye.
A Family Favourite
During the interactive live stream, Sky teased her audience about a specific song that holds a special place in her heart. She noted that this particular track is a staple in their household.

"There's this one song I sing so much. My whole family knows that one," she told her followers. She even encouraged her viewers to try to guess the title of the song in the comment section.
A Gospel Heart
While her mother’s music is her primary focus, Sky’s interest in the gospel genre extends further. She mentioned that she is also a fan of the singer Size 8. 
She stated that she mostly listens to gospel music these days, showing a clear preference for faith-based content over other genres.
Sky Victor is the firstborn child of Victor Kanyari and Betty Bayo. Her father, the lead pastor at Salvation Healing Ministry, became a household name due to various controversies surrounding his ministry.
Her mother, Betty Bayo, was one of Kenya’s most successful Kikuyu gospel artists. She is famous for hits like "11th Hour" and "Hia Ngai," which have garnered millions of views on YouTube.
She passed away in November 2025 after a brave battle with leukaemia.
The couple was once at the centre of public attention during their marriage and subsequent separation. Today, Sky is carving out her own path as a social media personality.
