Notable completed projects under Affordable Housing Programme/WILLIAM WANYOIKE



The government has recorded the completion of 8,367 housing units under the Affordable Housing Program since September 2022.

This progress is highlighted by several notable projects across various counties, aimed at addressing the housing deficit in the country.

Among the primary developments is the Boma Yangu Mukuru estate bedsitters, which accounts for the largest share of completed units at 5,616.

Other significant contributions include the Disciplined forces housing with 792 units and the Nakuru Bondeni project with 605 units. In Mombasa, the first phase of the Buxton project has delivered 584 units.

The programme has also expanded its reach to other regions, including the Boma Yangu estates in Homa Bay with 110 units and Kakamega Lurambi with 220 units.

Similar developments in Elburgon and Machakos have each added 220 units to the national tally.

These completed projects represent a key milestone in the state’s effort to provide decent and affordable shelter.
