According to the notice, the largest number of vacancies is for the position of Prosecution Counsel (DPP 7), with 140 posts available. The ODPP said the recruitment of prosecutors is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the office to handle criminal cases across the country and ensure timely and effective prosecution of matters before the courts.

The office plays a key role in Kenya’s criminal justice system by instituting and undertaking criminal proceedings against individuals accused of committing offences.
Interested candidates have been asked to submit their applications online through the ODPP careers portal, accessible via the institution’s website www.odpp.go.ke or through https://jobs.prosecutions.go.ke/.
The office emphasized that no hard copy applications will be accepted, indicating a shift toward a fully digital recruitment process.
Applications must be submitted on or before March 30, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. East African Time. The ODPP noted that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and will be required to present original copies of their national identification cards, academic certificates, professional certificates, and transcripts during interviews.
The prosecution office also reaffirmed its commitment to fairness and inclusivity in recruitment, encouraging applications from persons with disabilities, intersex persons, and individuals from marginalized and minority communities, in line with the provisions of Article 232(1) of the Constitution on values and principles of public service.
