The football community is mourning the loss of Turkish-German manager Engin Fırat, who has passed away at the age of 55.
Fırat, the immediate former head coach of the Kenya national team, suffered a sudden heart attack.
The incident occurred at Istanbul Airport. Fırat was travelling from Beirut to Adana, Turkey, shortly after leaving his post in Lebanon. His death was confirmed by his most recent club, Nejmeh SC.
A Global Tactical Mind
Born in Istanbul on 11 June 1970, Fırat held dual Turkish and German citizenship. He was a highly qualified technician who held the UEFA Pro Licence. Throughout his career, he was known for his preferred 4-1-4-1 and 4-2-3-1 formations.
