Nigerian comedian Sam Speedy, popularly known as Ojo, has sent his love and prayers to Kenyans after a building collapsed in Eastleigh, Nairobi, leaving several people feared trapped under the rubble.
In an Instagram post on Friday, 23 October 2026, the comedian expressed sympathy for those affected and offered prayers to the victims and their families.
“Kenya, my heart is with you. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected,” Ojo wrote.

His message came as emergency teams continued searching for survivors after the multi-storey building collapsed in Eastleigh, a busy commercial neighborhood of Nairobi.
What happened in Eastleigh?
A multi-storey building under construction collapsed in Eastleigh, Nairobi, at about 1pm on Friday, sparking a large emergency response.
Rescue crews are searching the debris. Authorities have not confirmed how many people remain trapped.
The structure came down during peak hours on a busy commercial street. Officials fear that construction workers, pedestrians and passers-by may have been caught beneath the falling rubble.
Crowds of residents and traders gathered near the site as rescuers worked. Traffic built up on surrounding roads, slowing movement through the district.

Rescue effort and safety questions
Teams from the Kenya Red Cross, Nairobi City County and the police were deployed, and heavy machinery was brought in to clear debris. An official warned of a possible second collapse, as the building was leaning on its neighbor.
The Kenya Red Cross said two injured people had been taken to Kenyatta National Hospital. It added that 26 people earlier reported missing had been traced and accounted for. The government had initially reported that seven people were missing.
Governor Johnson Sakaja said the building had county construction approval but lacked an occupation certificate.
The cause of the collapse has not been established. Murkomen said national and county agencies, working with professional bodies, would investigate.
