Assets held by the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) have grown steadily over the past three years, reflecting rising contributions and investment returns.
According to the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) Industry Brief for December 2025, the fund’s total net assets reached Sh623.79 billion by December 2025.
The figure marks an 11.78 per cent increase from Sh558.07 billion recorded in June 2025.
The growth continues an upward trend that has seen the fund expand significantly since 2022.
In December 2022, NSSF’s assets stood at Sh295.65 billion before rising to Sh308.26 billion in June 2023 and Sh328.11 billion by December 2023.
The fund crossed the Sh400 billion mark in June 2024 with assets valued at Sh402 billion and climbed further to Sh453.88 billion by December 2024.
The consistent growth highlights the expanding role of the NSSF in Kenya’s retirement savings sector as more workers and employers contribute to the national pension scheme.
