Crime scenePolice are investigating the death of a 29-year-old man who was found dead at a home following a domestic dispute with his former wife in Kagumo, Kirinyaga County.
According to police, Dennis Muriithi had travelled to Kamuiru village, Kiratina Sub-location to speak with his estranged wife at her home on Sunday, March 1, 2026, when the incident occurred.
Witnesses said he held talks with his former wife and her mother in an attempt to resolve their differences, but the discussions were unsuccessful.
They claimed he stabbed himself in the chest with a kitchen knife and died at the scene.
Police visited the home and said they are treating the matter as a suspected murder pending investigations.
Officers reported that the deceased had two stab wounds to the chest inflicted with a kitchen knife. The scene was documented, and the knife was recovered as an exhibit. The body was moved to the mortuary pending further procedures.
In Suba, Homa Bay County, a woman was found murdered in a rented house in the Nyandiwa area.
Police identified her as Mary Mwenesi Olilo, 43, and said her body was found partially undressed.
The body was already decomposing when it was discovered on Sunday morning, indicating it had been there for several days.
Police said they suspect she may have been killed by her boyfriend, who has not been seen since February 27, 2026.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.
In Shauri Moyo, Nairobi, detectives are investigating the killing of a 28-year-old man who was stabbed as he walked to work.
Stephen Musyimi Musyoki’s body was found by the roadside minutes after the early morning attack on February 27, 2026, according to police and witnesses.
Police said nothing was stolen from the victim, and the motive remains unclear.
He sustained stab wounds to the abdomen. Witnesses said there was a confrontation between the deceased and his attackers before they assaulted him and fled.
He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police processed the scene and said they are pursuing the assailants involved in the 6.30 am attack.
Elsewhere in Mukuyu, Uriri, Migori County, a man suspected of livestock theft was stoned to death by a mob.
Police identified him as Nelson Odongo and said he was attacked on the Makuyu-Achuth Road.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending postmortem.
