Kalondu Musyimi is making a significant move in the Kenyan media landscape. Known to many as Mpasho’s interview queen, she has officially landed a show host role at the state broadcaster, KBC Channel 1.

She will take on the new host for the station’s premier entertainment programme, Club 1 Extra.

A Fresh Start for Club 1 Xtra

Musyimi is set to lead the rebranded version of Club 1 Xtra. This high-energy entertainment show has long been a staple for viewers looking for a mix of music and celebrity culture.

The show is scheduled to air every Friday. It begins at 4:30 PM and runs until 7:00 PM. Kalondu will make her debut on Friday 6, March.

This prime-time slot ensures the programme captures the "Friday pulse" of the city as the weekend begins.

“I am super excited to make my debut on Kenya’s national broadcaster. My dream has come true, and this is literally God Almighty answering my prayers,” Musyimi said.

Changes in the Hosting Line-up

The arrival of Musyimi comes amidst several changes at the broadcaster. Last year, previous host Wanjiku Wanjiku announced her exit from the show. Other personalities who were part of the Club 1 Xtra team include Liza Diva and DJ Colejax.
