Popular Kenyan digital content creator Mr Alby, widely known to his fans as the "King of Smiles," has shared his devastation after his vehicle was stolen in Nairobi.

The incident occurred in the affluent suburb of Karen, an area typically known for its high-level security and gated residences.

A Night of Loss

The creator had been attending an event in the area when the theft took place. According to Mr Alby, the vehicle was parked for only a short period before it was taken.

"We parked the car somewhere and we come out of the event two hours later and a whole long car, a white car, has disappeared," he explained in a video shared with his followers.

The loss is particularly heavy for the creator because the vehicle contained essential professional tools. All his cameras and production equipment were inside the car at the time of the theft. This gear is central to his work as a digital storyteller.

"A whole car stolen, so much equipment lost... trackers bypassed... idek if I’mbeing targetedbut yeah, this makes no sense and I don’t know how to feel."

Desperate Search

Following the discovery that the car was missing, Mr Alby and his friend Yagga were seen attempting to track the vehicle using unconventional means. The pair took to the streets on a motorcycle to search the surrounding area.

Despite their efforts, the vehicle remained missing. Mr Alby described himself as being in a confused state as he tried to process the sudden turn of events.

The speed at which the thieves operated suggests a high level of coordination, especially as the vehicle's tracking systems were reportedly bypassed.

A Growing Concern in Karen

The incident may not have been an isolated event. MrAlby’s friend and fellow creator, Yagga, claimed that the area was hit by a wave of thefts that same evening.

"4 to 5 cars have been stolen the same night at the same place this is crazy."

If these figures are accurate, it points to an organised criminal operation targeting attendees of events in the Karen area.

For many residents and visitors, the theft of multiple vehicles from a single location in one night is a worrying development for the suburb's reputation.

Mr Alby has built a massive following on platforms like TikTok and Instagram through his "King of Smiles" persona. His content usually involves him approaching strangers and smiling at them, documenting their often heartwarming and positive reactions.
