Uganda Airlines has announced temporary disruptions to some of its long-haul flights after two of its aircraft were withdrawn from service for unscheduled maintenance.
In a travel update issued on Friday, the national carrier said the affected aircraft are currently undergoing technical checks, leading to adjustments in parts of its international schedule.
“Uganda Airlines wishes to inform our esteemed guests that two of our long-haul aircraft are temporarily out of service due to unscheduled maintenance,” the airline said in a statement.
“We understand that this may cause concern and inconvenience, and we want to assure all affected passengers that their safety and comfort remain our highest priority.”
The airline said its Customer Experience and Operations teams are actively working to minimise disruption for passengers booked on the affected routes.
Among the measures being implemented is rebooking travellers on partner airlines where seats are available to ensure they reach their destinations as close as possible to their original schedules.
In cases where alternative flights are limited, the airline said some services may be consolidated or delayed to maintain operational capacity.
“All affected passengers are being contacted directly via phone and email with updated travel details,” the airline stated.
Uganda Airlines also offered flexibility to customers who wish to adjust their travel plans, including the option to rebook for a later date without incurring change fees.
Additionally, the carrier urged passengers, particularly those travelling on London and Mumbai routes, to regularly check their flight status on the airline’s official website for the latest updates.
“We are working around the clock to source the required components and technical expertise to return these aircraft to service,” the airline said, adding that further updates will be provided once full restoration of the schedule is confirmed.
Passengers seeking assistance have been advised to contact the airline’s 24-hour Global Call Centre or reach out via its official WhatsApp line.
The airline apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience as it works to restore normal operations.
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
