Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Akothee has once again stirred conversation online after sharing a bold and unapologetic open letter addressed to businesswoman Esther Musila, the wife of gospel singer Guardian Angel.
In the strongly worded message, Akothee praised Musila for standing her ground amid persistent online criticism targeting her marriage and age difference with her husband. Rather than advising silence, Akothee encouraged Musila to confront detractors head-on.
“An eye for an eye. Nowadays, karma takes too long to respond.
Insult whoever insults you. Yes, remind them that it’s because of their own suffering that they project pain onto you. Don’t keep quiet.”
Akothee did not mince her words, suggesting that critics often push boundaries to test how far they can go.

“Fans can be very pushy; they’re testing how far they can go. If they go low, go under kwani?”
She went on to claim that many of the harshest commentators are driven by envy.
“They admire your relationship because they can’t even keep a pet. Some are commenting from their parents’ or friends’ houses, try me. They don’t even know how much a monthly electricity bill costs.”
In perhaps her most controversial line, Akothee urged Musila not to subscribe to the idea of being the “bigger person.”
“Let no one tell you to ignore. In fact, just choose one from the many and go all the way—enda mpaka kwao, sawa.
Be the ‘smaller’ one? No. You cannot allow people to disrespect you for living your life and expect you to keep quiet.”
She concluded the letter with a mix of defiance and faith:
“In fact, toka kwa gospel na mzee ndio iwaumeeee. Mimi niko na Yesu, sauzi. ??”

Background: Esther Musila and the Online Backlash
Esther Musila is a Kenyan businesswoman who rose to wider public attention following her relationship and eventual marriage to Guardian Angel. Their union sparked intense public debate largely due to their significant age gap, with Musila being older than the gospel singer.
Since going public with their relationship, Musila has repeatedly faced online trolling, with critics questioning the authenticity of their love and accusing the singer of marrying for financial stability. Social media users have often attacked her age, appearance, and role as a mother, subjecting her to harsh and, at times, deeply personal comments.
However, Musila has consistently defended her marriage, often sharing affirmations of love, faith, and partnership. She has spoken openly about choosing happiness despite public opinion and maintaining that their relationship is rooted in mutual respect and shared values.
Guardian Angel himself has previously addressed the criticism, emphasizing that their marriage is built on love and spiritual alignment. Over time, the couple has continued to share glimpses of their life together, appearing unbothered by the backlash.

Akothee’s Pattern of Outspokenness
Akothee is no stranger to controversy or speaking her mind. Known for her fearless social media presence, she has frequently championed women’s autonomy, especially in matters of relationships, financial independence, and public scrutiny.
Her latest message to Musila reinforces her long-held belief that women should not shrink themselves to appease critics. While some may view her advice as combative, others see it as a rallying call for women to defend their dignity unapologetically.
As debates continue to swirl online, one thing is certain: both Esther Musila and Guardian Angel remain firm in their commitment to each other — and now, they have Akothee publicly backing them.
