The Glamour Boys were composed and clinical in Mwea, scoring once in each half to climb to third place on 34 points. The win keeps them firmly in contention and increases pressure on second-placed AFC Leopards, who were held to a goalless draw by Bandari FC.
Leopards remain on 37 points, and the dropped points have heightened anxiety among Ingwe supporters wary of another trophyless campaign.

Elsewhere, Mathare United stunned Tusker FC 3-1, deepening concerns over the brewers’ inconsistent form and fuelling speculation about possible changes on the technical bench.
Shabana coach Peter Okidi praised his team’s execution after the away victory.

“We prepared very well for this match and the players executed the plan perfectly,” Okidi said. “If we want to talk about the title, we must win matches like this. We respected Posta Rangers, but we were confident in our quality.”
He highlighted the importance of defensive organisation. “Keeping a clean sheet away from home is always important in a title race. Our focus is not on the table; it is on the next game and maintaining consistency.”
Shabana controlled midfield and struck at key moments, showing maturity as the season enters a decisive stretch.
For AFC Leopards, frustration defined their stalemate against Bandari. Despite dominating possession, they could not break down a disciplined defence.
Coach Fred Ambani admitted the draw felt like a missed opportunity.
“We created chances but were not clinical enough. In a title race, you cannot afford to waste opportunities like that,” Ambani said.
He, however, insisted his side remains in the fight. “There is still a long way to go. Our supporters demand results and we understand their expectations.
We must show character in the coming matches.”
Bandari coach Benard Mwalala lauded his side’s discipline after frustrating the hosts.
“We knew it would be difficult, but the boys organised themselves well and followed the game plan,” Mwalala said. “A point against a title contender is a positive result.”
He dismissed suggestions that his team were overly defensive, adding that their approach was tactical and necessary.
Mathare’s emphatic win over Tusker further reshaped the title narrative, exposing the Brewers’ defensive frailties and raising fresh doubts about their ambitions.
