The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Homa Bay Town has started undertaking grassroots meetings to endear the party's policies to the people. The party wants residents to understand its manifesto so that they can make informed decisions during the 2027 general election.
The constituency UDA chairman Franklin Oluoch argued that they use the platforms to sensitize residents on the manifesto and enhance the party's structures at the grassroots.
He said they tell residents about their continuous push for economic empowerment, inclusion, and practical solutions to the cost of living challenges facing the people. The UDA party is famous for the bottom-up economic agenda.
"The meetings are aimed at spearheading the re-election of President William Ruto. We want people to make an informed decision in the forthcoming elections," Oluoch said.
Speaking during a meeting with more than 40 aspirants at the county UDA offices in Homa Bay town, Oluoch said their party does not support the calls for zoning by ODM counterparts.

"Homa Bay Town UDA team has made a firm and unequivocal declaration against zoning pushed by ODM. Competitive democracy between parties is the best path to securing credible leadership," he said.
Some of the famous politicians who have stepped forward to seek the constituency parliamentary seat on the UDA ticket in 2027 include former Rangwe MP Martin Ogindo and former Homa Bay governor aspirant Enosh Bolo.
The chairman said they agreed to work together and help the party implement its manifesto to the people. Their meeting comes barely two weeks after the aspirants, together with others across the country, met President Ruto at the State House in Nairobi.
President Ruto directed the party aspirants to ensure they align their strategies with the national vision of UDA.
"The meeting is important because it helps to identify and nurture the best candidates ahead of the 2027 polls. Aspirants agreed to work together in unity and purpose," he added.
According to Oluoch, UDA is a party that champions for a transparent and accountable leadership. It supports strong representation at the decision-making table and economic opportunities for youths and women.
"Joining UDA is not just about policies but it about positioning the constituency to benefit from national programs. It is about strengthening the voice and ensuring no community is left behind," he said.
